Kent Thai Music Ensemble

This is the Classical Thai court musical ensemble from Central Thailand. It consists wind instruments, xylophones, percussion instruments. The traditional Thai ensemble includes three types: Piphat, Mahori, and Khrueang Sai


The ranat ek in the follow picture is the higher xylophone that consists of 21 wooden bars suspended by cords over a boat-shaped through resonator and struck by two mallets. It is used as a leading instrument in the Piphat ensemble.
